Tracy Groesser, LMFT
Children, Adolescents, and Adults
Tracy Groesser, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist in our St. Charles office with 20 years’ experience helping children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples bring clarity and desired change into their lives. By offering a supportive and validating environment, Tracy helps her clients to identify and utilize their unique strengths to make those desired changes.
“Everyone has things that they wish could be different and, so often, we feel that we are the only ones feeling that way -- that it’s not acceptable to struggle or reach out for help. I believe that offering a supportive, judgment-free environment lets people know that they are not alone and are capable of finding solutions that feel authentic and effective.”
Tracy has worked in a variety of settings, including private practices, community agencies, and hospitals. Her solution-focused approach is collaborative and eclectic; it may incorporate techniques from a variety of modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavior therapy (DBT), play therapy, and narrative therapy. Tracy earned her master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
“My therapy style is collaborative and client driven with a focus on helping the client feel empowered, safe, and validated.”
Family and Couples Counseling
“Family and couples counseling can be challenging in that there are many individual perspectives, stories, and opinions that need to be heard and validated without making any one person feel singled out and blamed. When working with families and couples, I feel that it is extremely important that they have the communication skills they need in order to effectively work through any conflict or struggles they may be experiencing together. The goal is not to make problems disappear and have the perfect relationship, it’s to find hope that change and acceptance are possible.”
Ms. Groesser’s Areas of Focus Include:
