Children, Adolescents, and Adults

Stacey DiGrazia, LCPC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor in the St. Charles office. She works with children, adolescents, and adults to develop new ways of relating to emotions and thoughts; identify patterns; learn tools to manage difficult emotions and situations; and to effectively implement changes.

“Life has a lot to throw at you, and all too often, it is hard to juggle all those balls. Problems at home, at work, and at school all take their toll. Issues that just used to roll off your back now seem overwhelming. I find mindfulness a helpful method to cultivate contentment and well-being because when we are fully engaged in the present moment, we are not lost in feeling remorse for the past and we are not fretting or anxious about the future. Being present reduces your stress, improves your memory and sporting performance, increases your concentration, and even helps you sleep.”

Therapeutic Style

Utilizing practical solutions and her even-tempered, non-judgmental style, Ms. DiGrazia specializes in helping resolve mood disorders; anxiety; emotional and behavioral concerns; depression, ADHD; self-esteem issues; self-injury; anger management issues; stress; and phobias. Ms. DiGrazia believes in an integrative approach to therapy, utilizing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); dialectical behavior therapy (DBT); skills training; family systems; experiential therapy; and solution-focused therapy. She works with each client to find which approaches work best. When supporting children and adolescents, Ms. DiGrazia finds it important to work closely with parent, families, and when appropriate, school staff members.

“I enjoy engaging children and adolescents with enthusiastic, understanding, open, and interactive style. When working with adults, I enjoy assisting them in building their self-awareness, finding meaning, identifying strengths, making changes, overcoming struggles, managing anxiety and depression, and finding balance within their lives.”

Ms. DiGrazia earned her master’s degree in clinical counseling psychology from Illinois State University in Normal, IL.
